4 Year Old Requests Care Package Donations Instead of Birthday Presents
Added November 3, 2011
A little boy named Aedyn decided that for his 4th birthday party, he wanted guests to bring care package donations for Marines overseas instead of birthday presents. He thought that they needed things more than he did, so his mom requested in the birthday invitation that guests pick items from our Care Package Project™ needed items list instead of bringing presents for Aedyn. Sometimes the youngest of hearts can have the most generous of souls.

Read About the Events of Our October 29th Pack Day

Our October 29th pack day was one to remember. More than 100 volunteers came from all over the country to pack nearly 962 care packages alongside Purple Heart Marine Gunnery Sergeant Nick “Gunny Pop” Popaditch. Gunny Pop spoke to the group before the packing began to thank the volunteers for their hard work in assembling the packages and to remind them how important it is for the public to send our troops “a little piece of home.” After the speech Gold Star mom Sandy Deraps said a little prayer and the packing began.

A Marine Mom Sends Her Heart Overseas
Added May 4, 2011
On our April 30th pack day our Care Package Project™ coordinator asked me to help a Marine mom who wanted to pack a care package for her son, who was deploying that very morning from Hawaii. It was his first deployment, confirmed by the pained expression on his mother’s face. I told her she could pack the box with whatever content she found on our packing lines and offered to hold the box for her while she perused the items and placed them inside. She politely but firmly declined my offer, and I worried later that my offer had been somewhat insensitive, though that wasn’t my intent.

The Marine Corps will be 235 years old this November 10th, so let’s say Happy Birthday!
We would like to include a birthday card or letter in every care package we are shipping on November 6th to let the Marines know we are thinking about them on this important day. We are only about a month away from our care package pack day, and we are very short on birthday cards to send. YOU can really help us out by writing out a few birthday cards or letters to the Marines and sending them to the address below. This is a great way to support the troops!
You can also purchase Marine Corp birthday cards in packages from our EGA Store by clicking here. Just write a special note on the inside and send them to:
